THE BEGINNING

WE STARTED WITH DATA

We started in 2012 as Point Three, working with data, real-time analysis, and software. Those early years gave us a foundation in turning complex information into systems that could work reliably in practice—and eventually took us deeper into AI.

2019–2023
DEEPER INTO AI

FROM SEEING TO UNDERSTANDING

As our work expanded from visual AI to generative AI and intelligent agents, our focus began to shift. We were no longer interested only in what software could understand—we started asking what intelligence could do once it moved beyond the screen and into the physical world.

2023–2025
A NEW DIRECTION

THE MEETING THAT CHANGED OUR DIRECTION

In 2023, our founder Toru Fujita met Eddie Caldwell, an engineer from Scotland and now our CTO, while working together on a ChatGPT tuning project.

What impressed Fujita was more than technical skill. Eddie had a rare ability to see through complex engineering problems, find what really mattered, and turn ambitious ideas into systems that could actually be built. What began as a technical collaboration quickly became something more: the conviction that, with the right people, they could build something truly meaningful together.

A NEW NAME FOR A NEW DIRECTION

By 2025, our work in data and AI was moving beyond software and into the physical world. Robotics was becoming more than a new area of exploration—it was becoming the next chapter of the company.

Point Three became Transistor Robotics, marking a fundamental shift in who we were and what we were setting out to build. The new name reflected a new commitment: to bring years of software and AI experience into robotics, and to build for the challenges of the physical world.

The Idea That
Became ASH_OS

By the time we entered robotics, one thing was clear: better hardware and more powerful AI did not automatically lead to reliable work. Too many capabilities still existed in isolation.

We believed intelligence, execution, safety, and hardware should work as one system—not as separate pieces added together later. That belief became the foundation of ASH_OS.

ASH_OS reflects the software experience, engineering judgment, and decisions we have built up together over time.

Where We Choose to Start

ASH_OS is built as a foundation for robotics in the real world. But a general system proves its value through the problems it is trusted to solve. We chose to begin with cell culture—where precision, consistency, and the continuity of human expertise are critical.

A Message From Our CEO

Modern medicine stands on a fragile foundation.

Regenerative therapies, vaccines, gene treatments, and cell-based pharmaceuticals all rely on one critical process: cell culture. Yet this essential process depends almost entirely on the manual skills of human technicians—skills that take years to acquire, decades to master, and are now rapidly disappearing.

Across the world, researcher populations are shrinking. In Japan, new research hires have fallen by 30–40% over the past two decades. Demographic decline, reduced funding, and the loss of master-level expertise threaten the very supply chain of future medicine. If we do nothing, the world will face a structural collapse in its ability to deliver regenerative medicine and cell-based therapeutics.

At Transistor Robotics, we exist to confront this challenge head-on. We are building a foundation for the next era of medical infrastructure—one that preserves humanity’s accumulated life-science expertise, strengthens it, and makes it accessible to every nation, every institution, and every patient.

Our vision is simple, but its implications are profound:

A world where regenerative medicine is universally accessible.

A world where vaccines are developed rapidly.

A world where unknown viruses are neutralized early.

A world where cell-based therapeutics reach patients everywhere.
